Dave Anderson’s professional work in theatre as an educator, director, and actor began over 30 years ago after earning a Master of Fine Arts degree in directing at the University of Hawaii. Dave returned to Reno in 1983 and began a 15 year association as lecturer and director (14 productions) with the Nevada Repertory Company at UNR. During this period Dave also was the managing director of Reno Little Theatre from 1985-86 and oversaw the last renovation of RLT’s Sierra St. home.
In the winter of 1995-96 Dave joined with Scott Beers and Rachael Gottas and a few others to create an “adult” theatre program at Bruka Theatre. Between 1996 and 2011 Dave directed 22 mainstage productions and aided in the creation and performance of 15 children's shows. He is currently a theatre professor at Truckee Meadows Community College.
Distinctions include a Professional Artist grant from the Sierra Arts Foundation in 2000, a Best theatre production award, for Bruka’s Cabaret, from the Reno News @ Review, ACTF National finalist @ the Kennedy Center-with the Nevada Repertory Company – 1981, and a graduate assistantship from the University of Hawaii.

Adam Whitney has been an actor, dancer, singer, writer, director and choreographer in the northern Nevada area for over twenty years. He also spent many years traveling with Vee Corporations Dragon Tales Live, working closely with Jim Henson's Costumes and Creatures. Adam has also spent most of his acting career working in children's theatre. He enjoyed working with Sierra Arts foundation as an artist in residence as well as working with Washoe County School districts as a private hire artist. Some of his professional credits include: Wilbur Turnblad in Hairspray, Man 2 in Andrew Sisters Christmas of Swing, Emcee in Cabaret, MC in Biggest Little Side Show just to name a few. Adam has also choreographed more than 8 shows for Galena High School and over 10 shows for Sierra School of Performing Arts.  

 

Angela Anderson started acting and dancing at a very young age.  By the age of 12 she was a paid performer at the Pollardville Palace Showboat Theater in Northern California and was a member of the International Thespian Society in high school.  She moved to Reno, NV in 1996 and began acting, stage managing and was the administrative assistant for Bruka Theatre of the Sierra where she met her husband, Dave Anderson.  

Angela has many credits performing on stage locally in such roles as Lord Edgar/Jane Twisden in The Mystery of Irma Vep, Amy in Wings, Poppy in Noises Off at Bruka Theatre and was last seen as Dr. Helga VanZant in The Passion of Dracula and  Marlene in Top Girls at Laughing Owl Productions. She enjoys touring children's theatre performances to underprivileged youth. Going back to her Melodrama roots she directed the full length version of The Drunkard or The Fallen Saved in June of 2016. Most recently she directed over 50 Billinghurst Middle School students in the musical- James and the Giant Peach Jr. and costumed Sierra School of Performing Arts Seussical the Musical Jr.

Angela has also appeared in TV commercials and provided videogame voice overs.  She and Dave founded Laughing Owl Productions in January of 2015 to teach and share quality theatre with the community.
